Georgia vs Belarus Free Betting Tips – Euro 2021 playoffs

The home strength makes Georgia a favourite

Betting Tips: Georgia
Odds: 2.25

With the introduction of the UEFA Nations League, a so-called “dwarf” will be represented at the pan-European championship next year. From the lowest Nations League, League D, a team from the quartet Georgia, Belarus, North Macedonia and Kosovo will be able to cheer. The semi-finals are on Thursday, followed by the final in November. In Tbilisi, the team from Georgia and Belarus will face each other.

Both teams celebrated their group victory in a sovereign manner in autumn 2018, Georgia was able to take 16 of the 18 possible points, Belarus also got 14 points – both teams were thus unbeaten to secure the semi-final ticket. Half a year late (the games were originally scheduled for March), the semi-finals are now. With the best bookmakers, host Georgia against Belarus is the clear favorite due to the current odds.

Georgia – Statistics & Current Form

The Georgian national soccer team has never been able to present itself on the big stage and is dreaming of the premiere next year. Under the experienced head coach Vladimir Weiss, the greatest success since independence should be achieved. Only two wins separate the current number 89 in the FIFA world rankings from this dream.

However, there are no big names to be found

Even if almost all of the players earn their money outside of their home country, many football fans are unlikely to find a familiar name when looking at the squad list. There are no big stars and names, but with actors such as Giorgi Chakvetadze (KAA Gent) or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Rubin Kazan), there are great talents available. The Weiss team has to offer the greatest quality in the defence centre, which is very well staffed with Kvirkvelia and Khocholova. All in all, Georgia has a squad available that is particularly impressive because of the collective.

Georgia is considered to be extremely strong at home

In the betting base odds comparison, the hosts are considered to be relatively clear favourites. The main reason for this assessment is the home strength of the Georgians. Of the last 13 home games, Georgia only suffered a defeat in the game against Switzerland. Otherwise, the Weiss team hurried from success to success.

An offensive spectacle is not to be expected, however, because Georgia is acting from a safe defensive. In the 13 home games mentioned, only conceded six goals and was even able to keep zero in nine games. In this respect, a tip between Georgia and Belarus also appears that both teams will not score (betting odds around 1.60) extremely interesting.

The probable lineup of Georgia:
Loria – Navalovski, Kvirkvelia, Khocholava, Kakabadze – Kankava, Kvekvsekiri – Kiteishvili, Chakvetadze, Shenglia – Kvilitaia

Belarus – Statistics & Current Form

According to the current FIFA world rankings, even the guests from Belarus should be seen as a wafer-thin favourite, because the team of head coach Mikhail Markhel is currently two places ahead of the play-off opponents from Georgia. There are only a few legionnaires to be found in the Belarusian squad, and there are de facto no known actors beyond their own borders.

Disappointing Euro qualification

After four wins and two draws in the Nations League in autumn, a certain euphoria was felt among the Belarusians. However, the team was quickly brought back to the hard ground of reality. In the regular European Championship qualification, the underdog saw no light and finished fourth with only four points from eight games in a group with Germany, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and Estonia. Belarus was only able to write in the games against Estonia.

Rising shape curve in 2020

“New year – new luck” should be the motto of the Markhel team, because, despite all the adverse circumstances that 2020 will bring, the Belarusian team can look back on a positive year so far. So far, four international matches have been played (two friendlies, two Nations League games), of which the Belarusians had the upper hand in three of the four games.

The fact that the visiting team celebrated a victory in all four international matches in 2020 is a good omen.

The probable lineup of Belarus:
Gutor – Bordachev, Naumov, Martyovich, Yuzepchuk – Yablonski, Ebong – Savitskiy, Stasevich, Podstrelov – Lisakovich

Should Romania not qualify for the European Championship via the play-off games, this duel will be of particular interest to the Austrians. Because the winner from the quartet mentioned at the beginning can be found in Austria Group C.

On the whole, the home side from Georgia certainly has more quality in their own ranks. Coupled with the home advantage, a prediction for the home side between Georgia and Belarus is quite obvious.

Key facts – Georgia vs Belarus tips

Georgia lost only one of their last 13 home games
The last duel in November 2017 ended in a 2-2 draw
In 2020, all four Belarusian games ended with an away win

After a year of epidemics in 2019, Belarus has scratched the curve and should not be underestimated after three away wins this year.
