Football is only a minor priority in Serbia these days. This is partly due to the previously weak performances of the national team in the European Championship qualification. On the other hand, but also at the parallel held basketball World Cup in China, in which the troupe is counted among the NBA stars Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Jokic and Co. among the co-favorites.

Luxembourg vs Serbia Today’s Betting Tips

From a favorite role in a major event in football, the “white eagle” are currently miles away. Even the qualification for the EURO 2020 has moved after the recent encounters in the distance. After four matchdays, the 2018 World Cup participant has only a miserly four points on the account, and thus embarrassingly as many as the football dwarf from Luxembourg.

On Tuesday evening, the Josy Barthel Stadium will host a direct clash between Luxembourg and Serbia. According to the odds, the guests are traded as a crystal-clear favorite, which is impressively reflected in the implicit probability of victory of 78%. But does the star ensemble with the double-headed eagle have the form and self-confidence to live up to expectations?

The fact is that the world ranking 91st can no longer be underestimated from the Central European Grand Duchy. In the entire international match of 2019 conquered the “red lion” no defeat with more than one goal difference. In this respect, we would be careful to give a hint between Luxembourg and Serbia on a Serbian runaway victory.

Luxembourg – Statistics & Current Form

Normally, surprises on national team level are much less likely to be admired than in the normal league operation of the club teams. Nevertheless, the Luxembourgers have regularly managed to sell themselves over value and achieve good results in recent weeks and months.

The national team of the Grand Duchy, ranked 91st in nations such as Curacao, Syria, Oman and Lebanon, lost “only” three out of six matches in the current calendar year.

Even more impressive than, for example, the four points from the two matches against Lithuania (2: 1, 1: 1) were probably the narrow defeats against the leaders from the Ukraine. In front of a home crowd, only an own goal in the 90th minute caused the unnecessary 1: 2 defeat. In Lviv the only goal came in 0: 1 already in the sixth minute of play.

The team of longtime coach Luc Holtz (since 2010 in office) has found a way to compensate for the footballing inferiority by basic virtues such as dedication, will, fight and above all tactical discipline. In the past two years only Austria (0: 4) and Madagascar (3: 3) were able to score more than two own goals against the “red lions” in 16 games.

In this respect, on Tuesday evening between Luxembourg and Serbia the prediction seems obvious that the favored guest will score twice maximum. Most recently, the team, which has logically never been in a World Cup or European Championship finals, conceded just one goal three times in a row.

A possible handicap bet in favor of the Serbs must also be critically appraised for statistical reasons, because only two of the mentioned 16 international matches since the beginning of 2018 were lost with more than one hit difference. Last Thursday, the football dwarf in Northern Ireland again managed to bring down a counterparty to its own level. The logical consequence was a lackluster 1: 0 of the German qualifying opponent from the United Kingdom.

Well-known players are still in short supply in the Luxembourg squad. Two of the few players who are credited with a good future in other European countries are Daniel Sinani, who is currently playing for Europa League player Dudelange, and only 19-year-old Vincent Thill, who earns his living in the second division of France.

With Florian Bohnert (Mainz 05), Maurice Deville (Waldhof Mannheim), Mathias Olesen (1 FC Cologne), Dirk Carlson (Karlsruher SC) and Captain Laurent Jans (SC Paderborn) are also several German legionnaires in the squad, but so far at the highest level could not make their breakthrough.

Expected lineup of Luxembourg:
➠ Moris – Carlson, Malget, Gerson, Jans – Barreiro – Rodrigues, Thill, Thill, Sinani – Deville
➠ Coach: Holtz

Serbia – Statistics & Current Form

Nikola Milenkovic, Nemanja Matic, Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, Filip Kostic, Dusan Tadic, Luka Jovic or Aleksandar Mitrovic – the basic structure of the Serbian national team reads like a secret favorite on the European title. Stupid only if the undoubtedly existing potential in regularity can not be put on the field.

Even at the 2018 World Cup, the “Orlovi” remained behind with only three points from three games in the group stage behind their own opportunities and thus retired deservedly in the first round. While last summer’s failure was “blessed” with bad luck and lack of experience, the arguments are currently lacking to justify the disappointing performances.

After four matchdays in Group B of the European Championship qualifier 2020, the Serbs have only collected a meager four points and that although the new cycle in March with two notable division of points in the friendly match in Germany (1: 1) as well as the Quali kick-off in Portugal (1: 1) could certainly be described as successful.

This was followed by an embarrassing performance at 0: 5 in the Ukraine, which was at least partially offset by the befitting 4: 1 victory against Lithuania. Last Saturday, however, it set the next big setback. In front of a home crowd, the Eastern Europeans went down 2-4 against the European champion from Portugal, despite an offensive performance.

The second loss in the fourth game is the team of coach Ljubisa Tumbakovic, who has taken over since July this year, the office in the association, already with his back to the wall. As the current fourth behind Ukraine (13), Portugal (5) and Luxembourg (4), the “white eagles” would probably need four successes in the remaining four matches, to even speculate in the direction of the first two ranks.

At least in direct duel against Luxembourg. Serbia should be a tip on the world ranking-35. pay off, although Jovic and Co. in this international year continue to wait for the first threesome in the foreign. The last away win dates from October 2018, when the Serbians 2-0 prevailed in Montenegro.

The 67-year-old head coach of the Serbian team can draw almost full in the fifth qualifier. The challenge will once again be to reconcile the many “egos” and create a working collective. Many changes to the 2-4 against Portugal are not expected, as the coach is usually a fan of having the best single players together on the pitch.

Expected lineup of Serbia:
➠ Dmitrovic – Kolarov, Milenkovic, Spajic, Rukavina – Maksimovic, Fejsa (Ljajic) – Kostic, Zivkovic – Mitrovic, Jovic
➠ Coach: Tumbakovic

Luxembourg vs Serbia Direct Comparison

Before the match Luxembourg vs Serbia, odds were set without the assistance of past clashes. This is simply due to the fact that the two national teams will face each other for the first time in an international match on Tuesday evening.

Luxembourg vs Serbia Best bet of the day

You do not need to be a football expert to be able to explain or justify the betting odds of the bookmakers before the match in Group B in the European Championship qualifiers 2020 between Luxembourg and Serbia. The Eastern Europeans have more quality and experience at least two classes over the exotics of Central Europe.

Nonetheless, it would be too easy for us, given the undeniable quality differences between the two teams, before the duel against Luxembourg. Serbia without exception to make a prediction in favor of the guests. The outsider from the Grand Duchy presented in the international match year 2019 so far as an unpleasant opponent who has not suffered a high defeat.

Key facts – Luxembourg vs Serbia tips

? Luxembourg has not lost in 2019 with more than one goal difference
? Serbia has been waiting since October 2018 for an away win
? Both teams are tied in Group B at the moment

In fact, the Luxemburgers lost only two of their last 16 matches with more than one goal difference. With Austria and Madagascar only two teams managed to score more than two goals against the “red lions”. For that reason, between Luxembourg and Serbia, we would neglect to understate the odds of winning the Tumbakovic team’s handicap.

On the other hand, potential bets on a late hit are more interesting. We assume that the hosts will be willing to keep the zero for as long as possible. That they even succeed, does not seem completely hopeless. With continuous playing time, however, the individual class of Serbian stars should prevail.

We therefore choose between Luxembourg and Serbia as the tip that at least one goal after 74:59. Especially a played counter situation for a possible preliminary decision comes to mind here. We risk a bet of six units.

Bet Tip: goal after 74:59 minutes
Odds: 1.83
