Al-Jazeera’s recent performance
Al-Jazeera is the only World Interclub participant who was not a continental champion. He obtained the classification for having been national champion and the regulation to guarantee the participation of a club of the host country.
He made his first appearance in the race on Wednesday, December 6. He earned the right to survive in the title fight by scoring 1-0 at New Zealand’s Auckland, Oceania champion. The goal was scored by the Brazilian striker Romarinho, former Corinthians.
Despite the victory, the United Arab Emirates team showed great technical limitations. He was less in possession of the ball (40% to 60%), made less than a third of finishing attempts in comparison with the rival (5 to 17) sending only two on target (against seven of Auckland). Abused the fouls (22) to stop the game and manage the advantage achieved with the goal at 38 minutes of the first stage. He counted on the complacency of the referee, which showed four yellow cards for the locals, but left the red in his pocket.

The current form of Urawa Red Diamonds
The Japanese secured their place at the World Cup by beating Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the final of the Asian Champions League. The title was won on November 25 with a 1-0 win at home, after a 1-1 draw in the opponent’s field.
The home factor was also decisive in the previous stages of the tournament, played in a single match. In the semifinals, Urawa beat China’s Shanghai East Asia 1-0. In the quarter-finals, Kawasaki, also from Japan, took 4-1.
The possibility of making the settings at home was the result of the first placement obtained in his groups in the qualifying phase. Urawa had 12 points (four wins and two losses). It was the same as Shanghai. He did, however, take advantage of the goal difference (11 to 6).
After the title, the team relaxed and lost the next two matches for the J-League, the Japanese First Division Championship. At home, he was beaten 1-0 by both Kawasaki and Yokohama. With 49 points (14 wins, 7 draws and 13 losses) he is out of the title fight. The leader is Kawasaki, who has 23 points more.
