The recent performance of Independiente

The tie with Flamengo, 1 to 1, in the second decisive match of the South American Cup, which secured the title to Independiente, who won the first leg 2-1, ended on December 13 the 2017 season for the club Argentine.
The activities resumed in January with the participation in the traditional Summer Tournament. The re-appearance in the Argentine Championship happened at the end of the month with a tie, 1 to 1, with Rosario, and a 2 to 1 loss to Estudiantes, both at home.
Only on February 3 did the team win their first official game win in 2018. As a visitor, they defeated the Colon by 1-0. With 25 points (seven wins, four draws and three losses), they reached sixth place in the Argentine Super League. Boca Juniors leads the fight with 37 points. They are 12 more than the Independiente, who to have a longer term in preparation for the Cup Winners’ Cup, has had a game postponed and thus will make a match more than the rivals.

The current form of the Guild

As it disputed to the FIFA Club World Cup in December of 2017, the holidays of the Grêmio began later. This reflected directly at the start of the preparation in 2018. The main players were left out for a longer time and the tricolor placed a reserve team in the first rounds of the Campeonato Gaúcho.
That brought consequences. In the first five rounds, where he can count on the starting team in only one opportunity, he suffered four defeats and added a point with a draw. This left the tricolor dividing the lantern with Novo Hamburgo.
The first victory came on January 7. At home, Grêmio, with their main team, defeated Brazil’s Pelotas by 2: 1. Thus, with four points, it rose to eleventh place, but it continues in the relegation zone. The score, however, is the same as that of São Paulo, tenth and outside the region of sticking. It is only left behind when the tiebreaker criteria are used.
The uncomfortable situation did not change the plans of coach Renato Gaucho. He registered the best players available for the Recopa match and will put the reserve team in the Gaucho Championship competition during the continental tournament period.
Of the main group, however, can not count on left-back and half Ramiro. He was sent off in the last match of the Copa Libertadores of America in 2017 and will have to comply with automatic suspension in the first game of the Recopa.

History of the matches
The teams met twice in the 1984 edition of the Copa Libertadores de América. In Porto Alegre, the Argentines won 1-0. In Buenos Aires, there was a goalless draw.

With the two teams undergoing rebuilding and the beginning of the season, the Recopa game ends up featuring more friendly features. Difficult to imagine that any of the teams can present football of quality and high competitiveness. The tendency is that they risk little and try to exploit the rival’s mistakes. So the draw is a good guess. Has a price of 3.05 on Betmotion. Argentine success allows to multiply the investment by 1.85. Gremista victory yields 4.90 for each real bet.
