The best four have to work again
While the League Cup is currently on the program in England during the week and Italy’s first catch-up games are being played, things are happening in quick succession in the Spanish La Liga early in the season. After only the third matchday ended on Sunday evening, the entire fourth round will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, with the exception of the match between Granada FC and CA Osasuna, which has been moved to January.
Also in action are the top four from last season, who entered late due to their participation in the Champions League and Europa League finals in August. FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and FC Sevilla only played their first game of the season last weekend and all of them lived up to their role as favorites. Real Madrid also celebrated a victory, but have already drawn a draw after playing two games.
During the first English week in Spain, we will focus on the big three, consisting of Barca and the two Madrid clubs, all of whom have tasks that can be solved on paper.

Looking at the recent past with fireworks that are actually completely atypical, Atletico Madrid has opened the new season. The Colchoneros, who normally get close wins and have their greatest strength in a compact defensive behavior, landed a 6-1 victory over Granada CF. There was also Luis Suarez, who had just arrived from FC Barcelona a few days earlier and who, after being substituted on, scored two goals and one assist 20 minutes before the end.

The SD Huesca should not be an opponent who can meet Atletico qualitatively at eye level. The promoted team is still without a win after three games, but at least recorded two draws. Especially the 1: 1 at Valencia CF at the weekend and also the 1: 1 at the start of the Villarreal CF should serve Atletico as a warning not to take the underdog lightly.
Looking at Atletico’s appearance against Granada, it is ultimately difficult to imagine that Huesca will score. We expect that the Simeone will have more trouble than on Sunday, but in the end, the points should go to the capital.

Real Madrid vs Real Valladolid Free Betting Tips

The first appearance of the new season at Real Sociedad San Sebastian (0-0) was still a lot of sand in Real Madrid’s gearbox. Los Blancos also had a hard time at Betis Sevilla on Saturday evening, but in the end, they won 3-2 and can be satisfied with the four points they won from two difficult away games. In the first home game, coach Zinedine Zidane’s team, who, somewhat surprisingly, had Luka Jovic in Seville in a double lead with Karim Benzema, counted but of course only one victory. Toni Kroos, who had to be replaced on Saturday, is threatened with failure. In addition, with Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard, two offensive forces are still missing, so there could be room for improvement in the game.
Real Valladolid, meanwhile, has had a mixed start with two points from three games. It was extremely curious to see FC Barcelona’s first appearance after a short and very restless summer break. The Catalans then delivered a convincing performance in the first game under the new coach Ronald Koeman against Villarreal and had already shot out the 4-0 final result at the break. The fact that the game no longer seems exclusively tailored to Lionel Messi under the new coach could help Barca regain their old, new strength. Youngster Ansu Fati in particular benefited from the new play system with two goals, but Messi was also able to enter the scorers’ list, even if only from the penalty spot. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Barca can confirm the positive first impression, but Koeman’s debut appearance was promising and made us want more.
An acid test is definitely waiting for Celta Vigo, as the team headed by coach Oscar Garcia, which was almost relegated last year, got off to a good start with five points from three games. While SD Eibar (0-0) scored as well as the weekend in Valladolid (1-1), a not necessarily expected 2-1 win against Valencia CF was achieved in the only home game so far. Above all, this success raised hopes for a better season than last, which should also be possible with the existing quality in the squad led by Iago Aspas.
Nevertheless, we expect Celta Vigo to reach their limits against Barcelona. A long, open, and entertaining game are possible, but Barca should ultimately get the three.
