It will be up to Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund to reopen the German Championship after a two-week standstill to host friendlies between national teams and matches that have defined the last qualifiers for the 2018 Russian World Cup. November, the twelfth round of the Bundesliga in its 2017/2018 season. At the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Sttutgart, the clash starts scheduled for 17:30 (Brasília time).

Stuttgart’s recent performance

Stuttgart appear to be competing in the German Championship with two different teams. One of them, who plays at home, is able to fight for the top positions. Of 15 points at the Mercedez-Benz Arena, he reached 13 (four wins and one draw). He is the best host of the tournament alongside Bayern and Lepzig, who have also achieved the same score in five games.
What will face the rivals in their stadiums is a disaster and candidate to relegation to the Second Division. They were six losses in six matches with only three goals scored and 13 scored. It is the worst visitor of the 2017/2018 Bundesliga season.
On average, the numbers are not the most positive. With 13 points (four wins, one draw and six losses), Stuttgart occupy a modest twelfth position. They are five points behind the sixth-placed Hannover, who are close to qualifying for European tournaments, and are five points clear of Freiburg, sixteenth and first in the sticking region.
To try and get the team out of mediocrity, coach Hannes Wolf might be able to count on more options. With the stoppage, the medical department can intensify the treatment of injuries to a number of players who are in the infirmary. They are the goalkeeper Alexander Meyer (still without performances in season 2017/2018 of the German Championship); Holger Badstuber (six performances, one goal), Marcin Kaminsk (eight performances, no goal) and Mathias Zimmermann (two games, no goal); midfielder Christian Gentner (four performances, no goal); and striker Anastasios Donis (seven games, one goal). A new assessment will say whether they will be available to face Borussia Dortmund.
Low right for the match will be the defender Dzenis Burnic (four games, no goal). The 19-year-old was given a red card in Hamburg’s 3-1 defeat in the eleventh round and will have to complete automatic suspension. It can not be considered a great loss. Despite being scaled with some frequency, it is not an absolute holder.

The current form of Borussia Dortmund

The stoppage of the tournament was certainly very welcome for Borussia Dortmund. After reaching the leadership of the German Championship and to open five points of advantage over the second place, the team collapsed. In the last four rounds, he added just one point out of 12 possible.
Thus, he fell to third with 20 points (six wins, two draws and three losses). They are six fewer than Bayern Munich, leading, and two disadvantaged in comparison with Leipzig, runner-up.
The bad phase also hit the club in the Champions League of Europe. Dortmund are virtually eliminated from the tournament already in their group stage. After two draws with Cyprus’s fragile Apoel, they are third in Group H with two points (two draws and two defeats). The key is Tottenham, already ranked in the lead with ten points, and Real Madrid with seven points, hand in the second place. It remains for the Germans to fight with the Cypriots for third place and the right to play in the second half of the season the Europa League.
It was in this competition that Dutch coach Peter Bosz excelled in securing the runners-up with Ajax in the 2016/2017 season. The campaign certainly boosted his career and opened the door to lead Dortmund, where he had an excellent start but now faces major difficulties especially in the sector that used to be the highlight of the club. Goals have been missing in the last matches.
During the stoppage, he could not count on his top players, who were serving his selections, but had the opportunity to train options to remedy that deficiency. In addition, counted on the return to the training of the half Marco Reus.
The 28-year-old striker suffered a serious injury in the final of the German Cup 2016/2017. He has undergone knee surgery and has been away for six months. He resumed field training, however, still has no playing conditions. Should return to play only in early 2018.
Also in the medical department are defenders Erik Durm (without performances in the 2017/2018 season of the German Championship) and Lukas Pisczek (seven games, no goal); and midfielder Sebastian Rode (without performances).
Dortmund scored in five of their six away games. It was three wins and two draws. With 11 points he is the second best visitor of the Bundesliga.

History of the bouts between Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund have won their last four matches against Stuttgart. The invincibility in the duel, however, is much wider reaching 13 matches (eight wins and five draws). Stuttgart’s most recent success came in 2010 when they went 4-1 at home to Dortmund.

A reaction from Dortmund is expected. However, the good performance of Stuttgart in their domains makes the tie is the best guessing option for the match. It has a price of 4.00 per 1 in Bet365. Success of home owners multiplies the investment by 5.00. Visitor win returns 1.61.
