Sweden – South Korea World Cup Prediction

The national team of Sweden has managed a surprising qualification in the World Championship, leaving the Netherlands and Italy at home. The Scandinavians finished second in Group A of the preliminaries, 19 points, after France 23 points, but ahead of the Netherlands 19 points (had better golaver), Bulgaria 13 points, Luxembourg 6 points and Belarus 5 points. At the barrage, “Blågult” eliminated Italy, which defeated it 1-0 home and ended in a draw away, 0-0. This year, the team coached by Janne Andersson played 6 friendly games, the balance being very modest, a success with Denmark (1-0), three draws with Estonia (1-1), Denmark (0-0) and Peru (0 -0) and 2 defeats with Chile (1-2) and Romania (0-1). In CM 2002 and CM 2006, the Swedes passed the group stage, but they were eliminated in the eighth and CM 2010 and CM 2014 did not qualify.

Sweden’s probable team: Olsen – Augustinsson, Lindelöf, Granqvist, Lustig – Ekdal, S. Larsson – Forsberg, Claesson – Toivonen, Berg

South Korea finished second in Group A of the preliminaries, the Asian area, with 15 points and qualified directly to the World Cup in Russia, along with Iran, which had 22 points. The following places ranked Syria 13 points, Uzbekistan 13 points, China 12 points and Qatar 7 points. Thus, South Korea gained a new qualifying at the final tournament, where it has been playing uninterrupted since 1986. At the 2014 CM in Brazil, “Taegeuk Warriors” finished in the last place in a group with Belgium, Russia and Algeria, having a single point. This year, the team coached by Shin Tae-yong played not less than 9 friendly matches, but won only 2 times with Moldova (1-0) and Honduras (2-0), drew with Jamaica (2 -2), Bolivia (0-0) and lost to Northern Ireland (1-2), Poland (2-3), Bosnia (1-3) and Senegal (0-2).

Sweden – South Korea Prediction

If she wants to qualify for the finals, Sweden will have to beat South Korea, because then with Germany and Mexico it will be much harder. So do the South Koreans, which is hard to believe that they could avoid defeat in the game with the world champion or that they could overcome Mexico. The Scandinavians no longer have stars as in other years (Nordqvist, Gren, Brolin, Dahlin, H. Larsson, Ibrahimovic), but they have good athletes who form a team. Asians are putting their hopes on Tottenham Hotspur’s striker Son Heung-min, but they have no good players. They have an offensive game style and are known to always play with much determination. “The Blue-Yellow” failed to score a goal in the last 3 friendly games, after having scored 26 times in the preliminaries. Now, Marcus Berg, Ola Toivonen, Emil Forsberg, etc. are at the World Cup and will certainly play something else than in the training matches. “Taegeuk Warriors” also have two good attackers, Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan, who have the best chances to score. It will be an interesting match between two teams with totally different game styles. Sweden looks stronger than South Korea, but it remains to be seen if it succeeds in winning.
